15mm Mongols, 12th-15th Centuries AD

. The Mongols certainly need no introduction! These world conquerors are provided here with the choice of their short legged, large headed ponies, or the somewhat larger steppe ponies they would have gained access to as their empire spread out. Notes on the range: The guard horse archers would also be very suitable as Ilkhanid heavy cavalry. The guard archers come with separate lances (not shown) so they may be slung over the riders' backs if desired. The high command set has three horsetail standards that can be placed in the hands of the guard lancers, but those guard lancers are not provided in the high command pack. Not all codes are shown with every rider and horse combination, but enough are shown to illustrate every rider, and every horse, pose. Infantry described as "Chinese" have the helmet with plumes on the top and sides, and spears that could also be polearms; those described as "Korean" have the hooded headgear and had little plumes on their spears. These are the nationalities commonly attributed to the (apparently) subject foot soldiers depicted on the Mongol Invasion Scrolls made in Japan, but there isn't certainty about that.
